Web Notifications

What Are Web Push Notifications?
Web push notifications are short alerts that appear on your desktop or mobile device, sent directly from a website through your browser. They work at the browser level — not via email or SMS — and are delivered even when you are not actively browsing the Nutn News website, as long as your browser is running in the background.
Nutn News uses push notifications to alert subscribers to breaking news, significant developing stories, and major editorial publications. We do not send promotional or advertising notifications.
What We Send
- Breaking news alerts: Significant events with immediate public interest.
- Major investigations: Publication of significant investigative or long-form pieces.
- Editorial corrections: Major factual corrections to previously published stories.
We aim to send no more than a few notifications per day. Notification frequency reflects editorial judgement, not algorithmic volume maximization.
How to Subscribe
To receive Nutn News notifications, visit our Manage Settings page and click “Enable Notifications.” Your browser will display a permission prompt asking whether to allow notifications from nutnnews.com. Click Allow to subscribe.
You must actively grant permission — we cannot send notifications without your explicit consent. If you dismiss or block the prompt, you can revisit your browser settings to grant permission later.
How to Unsubscribe
You can unsubscribe at any time through our Manage Settings page, or directly in your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:

Data & Privacy
When you subscribe to push notifications, your browser generates a unique subscription endpoint token. This token is stored by our notification delivery service and is used solely to route notifications to your device.
- No name, email address, or other personally identifiable information is required or collected.
- The subscription token is specific to your browser and device.
- Tokens are deleted when you unsubscribe or revoke notification permission.
